We are the neighborhood. You have nearly 7 acres of barnyard to roam and enjoy. There are many restaurants within 5 miles, as well as shopping centers, Walmart, and a hospital. We are the perfect spot to be in the country, relax, and have all the conveniences of city life.
We recommend a car for travel to the lake or nearby shopping. We recommend renting a pontoon boat from Black Oak Marina on Cherokee Lake (5 miles away) for the day. Another option is to go to Douglas Lake (15 miles away) for the day. There are several boat rental options there as well.
We offer farm experiences with our Scottish Highland cows during your stay for an additional fee. This is a great family- and couple-friendly experience during your stay. We do not allow parties or events as part of your booking on this platform. Weddings and private events are permitted on Cedar Pond Farms, but not included in your overnight fee on this platform. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss hosting a wedding or event on our farm for up to 150 guests. We have multiple ceremony sites available on the farm. Feel free to ask for more information!

Staying at Barndo 1AS
Barndo 1AS is a European-style one-bedroom barndo suite — a queen bed plus a futon, your own full kitchen, and a private porch looking out over the farm. The south-facing twin of 1AN, with the same smart one-bedroom layout and a porch that catches the afternoon light.
You are staying on a working farm just outside Knoxville, Tennessee — which is the part guests tell us they did not expect to love as much as they do. Mornings are for collecting eggs and cutting flowers in season; there is self-serve gelato from our own Gelato Brothers; and the Scottish Highland herd is a short walk away.
Hosted by the farm itself
The south porch catches the best of the afternoon — take your robe and a cup of gelato out with you, and let the bouquet from our own gardens hold the light inside.
Book direct and you are the farm's own guest. The people who feed the Highland herd every morning are the same people who send your door code and dress your rooms before you arrive. An early check-in, a cow experience added to your stay, a question at nine at night — ask the farm, and a human who knows the property answers. One confirmation, one host, and a phone number that reaches the barn.
Can I see the cows from Barndo 1AS?
Yes — from outside the fences. You are welcome to walk out to the pasture fence and see whether the herd comes over, and guests can buy a bucket of feed to carry to the fields.
⚠️ Please never touch the fence. Our pasture fences are electrified and can shock you or anyone with you. Enjoy the cows from your side of the wire, and keep children and pets away from it.
To actually get in with the herd — petting, brushing, photographs — book a guided Standard or Premium Cow Experience. It is its own booking, not an add-on to your stay, and there is no upgrade fee to attach one to a reservation you already have. Full details are on the Experiences page, and the FAQ answers this in full.
A base camp for horse trials, tournament fishing & game days
Barndo 1AS sits in the middle of East Tennessee's sporting calendar. River Glen Equestrian Park — USEA horse trials from spring through fall — is about ten miles up the road in New Market, and the farm has real, level room for a truck and horse trailer. Anglers are minutes from the Cherokee Lake ramps and an easy drive to Douglas Lake at Dandridge, with boat parking beside the units, outdoor outlets for overnight trickle charging, and the farm's own two-acre catch-and-release catfish pond for testing a cast or unwinding after weigh-in. Carson-Newman University is minutes away for family weekends, recruiting visits and graduation; Tennessee game days in Knoxville are an easy drive with no-hassle free parking waiting back at the farm; and Sevierville's attractions are close enough for day trips that end in pasture quiet. Between it all: fresh eggs, the Highland herd at the fence, and the Premium Highland Cow Experience to book while you're here.
